Service Description

Hepatitis B vaccination has been incorporated into the routine NHS childhood immunisation programme since Autumn 2017. It's also offered to those thought to be at increased risk of hepatitis B or its complications. The vaccine gives protection against the hepatitis B virus, which is a major cause of serious liver disease, including scarring of the liver (cirrhosis) and liver cancer. Hepatitis B is contracted sexually, blood to blood contact, contaminated medical equipment, blood transfusion, etc. Hepatitis B vaccination schedule varies whether if it is for work or travel.
